Ever see a photographer who starts out with a 365 day project, or even a 52 week project and never finishes? Yeah, me too. Well, I recently joined a group of a few other busy photographers who decided to commit to a 12 month project! If we fail this, we’ll be taking donations for a time management seminar. The best part is that it will be totally candid, lifestyle shots of each of our own families/lives. We don’t even have to dredge up random people or make our kids pose for us. We’re calling the series “The Story of ________” and we’ll each be filling in our own blanks. The Story of Orange Julius

One of the most simple and most favorite of our Christmas traditions is drinking our Orange Julius just before opening gifts. It is such a sweet little treat that fills me up every year with anticipation and excitement. The best part is introducing it to my kids. My son gulped down his first glass and two more immediately after.

Here is our family recipe:

6 oz (half) can of frozen orange juice concentrate

1 cup milk

1 cup water

4 T sugar

1 tsp. vanilla

10-12 crushed ice cubes

serves 4 or so…

Let me preface by saying that I really do NOT like these kinds of shots (with half color, half black and white: it usually distracts from the main subject) but thought it would be fun for this particular picture. Enjoy as you will doubtfully ever see anything like this from me again!!

The Story of their ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZs

I love watching my babies sleep. They look so peaceful and I’m always looking at the positions they get into and wondering who they look like when they sleep. When I see them asleep I think I fall even deeper in love with her sweet curls, his puffy lips, and the angelic expressions that rest on their faces.  I took these over several naps and bedtimes the last few days.

This girl of mine is always in princess dresses or something frilly.  She is sooooo not like her mama in that way.

This family was so sweet and fun to work with.  I loved their names too! I had such a great time photographing their beautiful children and their wonderful family!  I hope you enjoy!

These two are sisters!  They are both way sweet and I had a blast photographing them the other day!!  There were way too many that I LOVE!!  I can’t pick! Thanks girls for a fun afternoon!
